Visions of Love with My Favorite Ornament (OPI)

Note: I applied this polish on November 28th and took the photo the 30th. These photos were taken with my camera (usually I use my phone)

I decided to go into a richer color for this mani. I had wanted to do red but I decided December will be a very red month with Christmas themed nails that I wanted to try more of a burandy color. To do that, I used Visions of Love by OPI which was apart of one of the Mariah Carey collections. I made a huge mess on my first attempt because I managed to get fuzz on nails and knocked into everything within reach. I ended up having to redo 8 nails. It was bad. My skin was stained. Because I am pale, even nearly 3 days later, you can see every mistake I made no matter the clean up attempt, hand washing, etc.. It is a beautiful color but it looks a little strange on me. Probably because all I can see are the mistakes. I ended up using 2 layers overall but a few required 3 just because it was thin in some spots.

For my accent nails (I know my right hand is techincally the wrong accent nail but I like it there and I am unique so I am going to keep doing it that way, lol), I used My Favorite Ornament by OPI, also a Mariah Carey collection shade. I used 3 layers for these to really make them pop and to fill out some spots that looked more bare. The gold collection really shines and it is still one of my favorite nail polishes I have ever picked up.

Look at that shine!!! The light does it no justice.

Dry time was great for how many layers I did. Using top coat really made Visions of Love shine so that it looks almost jelly in the light. Tip wear has gone good with it thus far. I tried to 'wrap' my tips. I made a mess doing this but so far I only have a few spots where 'wrapping' didn't go well and it is starting to wear. There are zero chips thus far.

Overall I am going to give this one a 3.5 out of 6 stars. The dry time was great and colors are beautiful but the deep burgandy is not my favorite. It may look better with glitter and a different skin tone..if only I could paint that on (lol).
