Tyra Lynn Banks was born on December 4, 1973 in Inglewood, California. Tyra started modeling at age 12 and at age 16 she moved to Europe to model where she found great success. Tyra was a high fashion model until the mid-1990s when she came back to America to focus more on the commerical side of modeling. Tyra was the first African American women to have covers on the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, GQ, and the Victoria's Secrets catalog. Tyra has been many things, actress, singer, author, talk show host, author, and businesswoman. Recently Tyra graduated from Harvard Business School and can still been seen weekly on CW's America's Next Top Model.
