LOTUS (ZOYA)

Note: I applied this polish on April 30th (early hours) and the photos were taken on the 1st (evening hours).

This was a polish that I had spotted on a blog and got a few months ago on one of the Zoya promos. I was drawn to it's unique dusty purple shade and the pink shimmer undertones. The color is very pretty in person. The pink shows up in the light although you can see it somewhat in the shade. It actually shows up more than I thought it would which was a happy surprise. The purple is a shade of purple that I didn't know I needed in my collection and I am glad that I have now! The photo above was taken in the shade outside. The photo below was taken in the sunlight also outside.

The downside of this polish is you can see the brush stroke mistakes. There are also several nails where it looks patchy. The first application on my left hand went on patchy particularly down by my cuticles and the tips of my nails. However, it went on nearly perfectly on my right hand. I am not sure if I just didn't mix it properly since I did start with my left or if I just got better at applying it by the time I got to my right hand. I used two layers for this polish. The second coat went on fine and filled out well, mostly.

The dry time is great. The tip wear is pretty good. I have worn this polish for 6 days now and I have major chips on just one nail which for me is pretty darn good.

Overall I am giving the polish a 4 out of 6 stars. The color is great but the application issues and showing of brush stoke mistakes instead of filling in as many other polishes do turned me off a bit.
