MY VAMPIRE IS BUFF (OPI)

Note: I applied this polish on January 17th and took the photos on the 18th. These photos were taken with my camera (usually I use my phone).

Have you ever spotted a nail polish on a nail blog and you just have that feeling of 'oh my word that is SO pretty, I need it!'?? That was me and this polish. I got this polish as a mini in the same set as Can't Find My Czechbook. I was very excited to try it. Sadly, I wasn't pleased.

First let me state that I think my issue with this polish has to do with my current base coat. I have had the same base coat for probably 2 years now. It's old. It's nearly gone. And it's sticky so it isn't applying well. So I was probably doomed from the start. I also was lazy and didn't fix my cuticles before hand. I should have known with the lighter color.

My Vampire Is Buff (I keep typing Buffy, haha) is an yellowish, beige-y sort of color. It is a cream and really pops off the nail. The first coat was very streaky. And the second coat. So was the third. I put on a fourth and there are still some streaky spots. I applied thin coats so I was confused. Those nails that look smooth are very lovely. Sadly the ones that don't, look just icky.

The dry time however for applying 6 coats (including base and top coat) was pretty awesome. I had zero dents or weirdo chips as I tend to get very quickly since I can never sit still.

Overall I am giving this mani a 2 out of 6 stars. The dry time is great but I am not a fan of putting on 4 coats and still having the polish look streaky. Once I get a new base coat, I will try this one again.
