My mother picked up this color at a garage sale this past summer and I was in the mood for a deep blue. This color is a navy blue with a lovely shimmer in it aka one of my favorite sorts of polishes. Blue is my favorite color especially deep blues and I adore glitter. I ended up applied two coats all together with zero application issues, yay!
I decided to try out, for the first time, the Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat. I had bought it awhile ago but never tried it. What possessed me to try it with a shimmer polish, I have no idea. However, I loved the results! I did one coat of top coat. I have learned that it is very important not to miss any spots, which I did, especially near the bottom of my nails.
Using the flash as I did in the photo above really shows how good the shimmer is even with the matte top coat on it.
The dry time on this polish was pretty good. I did have an issue with chipping by the 3rd day but this was after doing dishes (by hand) a couple of times and washing of a PA system so I can't stay it's a bad polish.
Overall, I am giving this mani a 5 out of 6 stars due to the great application....updated on October 17th..this polish stains horribly when you try to take it off. It got under my nails and there is slight staining on the top of the nails.
